SANTA CRUZ –
ALPAMAYO – HUANCARHUAS TREK (17 DAYS)
Day 01: Lima –
Huaraz
The transfer will be with
the luxury bus of MOVIL TOURS / CRUZ DEL SUR, taking the
Pan-American high way to the north side of Lima until
the Departament of Ancash, from here we’ll start
to climb the Cordillera Negra in its west side with direction
to the highest pass from Conococha to (4,500 masl), Here
we’ll find a small peasant village called Conococha
next to this village we will find a lagoon with the same
name. From here we can already appreciate the views where
the Cordillera Blanca Starts, and just to 50 kilometers
aprox south from the Cordillera Blanca lies The Cordillera
Huayhuash and we can see only its peaks if there is no
cloud. From Conococha we have to go down along the Santa
River that runs through the Callejón de Huaylas
until The Ocean Pacific. At 6pm aprox we will arrive to
Huaraz to (3,090 masl) and immediately we’ll transfer
the passengers into the selected Hotel.
Day 02: Acclimatization
in Huaraz - Callejón de Huaylas
Acclimatization full day
tour to Callejón de Huaylas and Churup Lagoon to
(4,450 masl). Well early in the morning
after the breakfast in the Hotel, the passengers will
aboard the private bus, and we’ll take the east
side high way until Pitec and start hiking until we reach
the lagoon of Churup, there the passengers can enjoy the
beauty of the lagoon, have a very nice lunch, observe
the amazing colour of the lagoon and landscape, after
that, at 3 pm we will come back to Huaraz. (L)
Day 03: Huaraz
– Cashapampa – Llamacorral
We will leave from Huaraz around 7 am, so breakfast is
at 6 am, passengers will be transferred to the trail head
of Cashapampa to (2,900 masl), where we will meet our
donkey drivers, then we will start hiking by narrow valley,
we will go up for about 2 hours, then we will have lunch
down the tree’s shadow, then we will start going
up moderate almost flat area to the first camp Llamacorral
to (3,800 masl). Overnight camping. (B.L.D)
Day 04: Llamacorral - Alpamayo Base Camp-Taullipampa
Today we will hike along the valley moderate enjoying
the beautiful lakes called Ichikcocha and Jatuncocha,
turquoise lagoons, then we will arrive to nice spot where
will have lunch at the place called Quisuar, then after
it we will go up to the Alpamayo south base camp, after
we will take pictures and return, then continue for few
hours to the next camp called Taullipampa to (4,200 masl)

Day 05: Taullipampa
– Punta Union Pass – Tuctupampa
Early in the morning after the Andean breakfast we will
start hiking to the Paso Punta Union to (4,750 masl),
we will climb zigzag path, then we will get the pass around
at 11 am then after to enjoy nice views we will descent
to the nice Morococha lagoon to have lunch, then after
few hours walking we will arrive to the camp Tuctupampa
to (4,200 masl). Overnight camping. (B.L.D)
Day 06: Tuctupampa
– Pucajirca Pass – Quisuar
Today we will start climbing to get the Paso PucaHirka
(4,640 masl). We will get there at around 11 am, then
go down zigzag path nice landscape surrounded by highlands
straw and many trees, we will get the Huecroncocha lagoon
to have Lunch in a nice spot. Then after few minutes walking
dawn we will get small village called Quisuar, where we
will camp in the left side to (3,900 masl). Overnight

Day 07: Quisuar
– Pass Tupatupa – Jancapampa
We will start our hiking going up moderate path, enjoying
field of sheep, we will get the Tupatupa pass to (4,360
masl) easily, then we will go down by the base of the
Pucajirca Mountain and then we will arrive to the next
camp place of Jancapampa to (3,600 masl). Overnight camping.

Day 08: Jancapampa
– Yanacon Pass – Huillca
We will start hiking early to get the pass on time, Paso
Yanacon to (4610masl) always we will be surprised by nice
different landscapes, after the pass we will go down to
the next camp place called Huillca to (4,000 masl). Overnight

Day 09: Huillca
– Mesapata Pass – Moyobamba
Moderate walking first 2 hours to get the Mesapata pass
to (4,460 masl). Then we will walk flat area to the water
stream in moyobamba valley to have lunch, and then we
will continue to the base of the Pass Caracara where we
will camp to (4,400 masl). (B.L.D) Overnight camping.
Day 10: Moyobamba
– Pass Caracara – Jancarurish
Today first 2 hours will be windy, once we will get Pass
Caracara to (4,830 masl), and we will be surpriced by
many white peak mountains, then after to take pictures
we will start going down and in the middle of going down
we will be faced to Alpamayo on its north face, then we
will going down we will arrive to our camp place of Jancarurish
to (4,200 masl). Overnight facing at Alpamayo’s

Day 11: Jancarurish
– Alpamayo Base Camp North – Jancarurish
Today is rest day and we will walk to the Base camp of
Alpamayo in north side, from there we will get many pictures
of the mountains and we will return to the base camp for
overnight to (4,200 masl). (B.L.D) Overnight camping.
Day 12: Jancarurish
– Pass Ichicvientona – Osoruri
Today we will walk down along the Alpamayo valley until
Ruinapampa, where the pre-inkas terraces we will appreciate,
from here we will start climbing zigzag path and in the
middle of climbing, we will have lunch, then we will get
the Ichicvientona pass to (4,770 masl), then after short
rest and take pictures we will descent for a few minutes
to the camp place of Osoruri to (4,650 masl). (B.L.D).Overnight

Day 13: Osoruri
– Jatunvientona Pass – Calamina
After breakfast we will walk up for about one hour to
get the Jatunvientona pass to (4,860 masl), then we will
go down a few meters down and we will be surprised by
a nice spot, a beautiful blue lagoon of Cullicocha in
the base of Santa Cruz massif, we will get offshore the
lake to have lunch. Then after rest in the lunch time
we will continue going down to the camp place of Calamina,
from this camp place we will appreciate nice sunset over
the Black Mountain in front us to (3,650 masl). Overnight
camping (B.L.D)
Day 14: Calamina
– Hualcayan – Huancarhuas Hot Springs
Today our last hiking day, we will arrive first to the
small village of Hualcayan where we will find very basic
shop, and National Park entrance control, to check out,
then after few minutes walking we will have lunch and
we will get early to Huancarhuas Hot springs for relax
and camping in the Small village of Conay or Huancarhuas
to (2,850 masl). Overnight (B.L.D)
Day 15: Huancarhuaz
– Huaraz
After the last Andean breakfast we will aboard the bus
at 9am aprox. We will feel that we rounded Alpamayo circuit,
then we will arrive to the first town of Caraz to (2,293
masl), then we will continue driving to Carhuaz for lunch,
we will stop in the nice spot to have Lunch, then we will
continue to Huaraz arriving at 3 or 4 pm aprox, and immediately
we’ll transfer the passengers into the selected
Hotel. (B.L)
Day 16: Huaraz
– Free Day
Today passengers will have free day in case they want
to take the night bus, they will have options to go to
walk around Huaraz and make shopping. This tour is optional
included in our services if the passengers decide for
additional tours.
Day17: Huaraz –
Lima
After 8 hours driving passenger we will be transferred
to the selected Hotel or to the International airport.
