This is our synthesis of
Peru that summarise in 11 days all the main tourist attractions
of the Country. You will visit Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred
valley of the Incas, Amazon jungle, Macaw clay lick, Titicaca
lake, Uros and Taquile islands.
DAY 01 LIMA
Reception in the Lima airport
and transfer to the Hotel in Miraflores, Lima .Depending
on the arrival time of your international flight we will
have the possibility of an optional visit to the gold
museum ( not included in the rate )
DAY 02 PUERTO MALDONADO
Transfer to the airport where we'll take the flight to
Puerto Maldonado, ( airfare included ) upon arrival from
Lima, greeting at the airport and transportation to the
WASAI Maldonado Lodge, where you will receive a welcoming
tropical fruit beverage. You will embark for a 3 to 4
1/2 hour motorboat trip up the Tambopata river to WASAI
Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box lunch on route).
During the trip we will be able to observe the local farms,
while groups of birds pass over the boat. Opportunity
to see families of Ronsocos, the largest rodents in the
world. Reception, accommodation at the lodge, and lunch.
After a short rest we will have a brief introductory walk
in the forest nearby to learn basic principles of ecology
and hear some wildlife natural history. Return to the
lodge for dinner.After dinner we will make our first visit
to the forest to observe the nocturnal life of insects,
frogs of various colors, and an occasional encounter with
nocturnal mammals. We will enjoy the diverse sounds of
the jungle which will accompany our first night. Sleep
in the lodge.(L, D)
DAY03:
Macaw clay lick "Collpa" We will wake up early
(4 am) to drink a coffee or hot drink and leave for the
"Collpa". We will travel up the Tambopata river
(or "Bahuaja" in the local dialect) for an hour
and a half, to arrive to observe from a safe distance
one of the greatest spectacles of wildlife: hundreds of
parrots and macaws of various species, enjoying their
diet of mineral salts on the clay wall. It is an experience
that never will be forgotten.We will make a stop on the
river bank to have a fruit snack and we will return to
the lodge to have breakfast and rest. After lunch we will
enter the verdant jungle on a special trail to observe
wild life. We will then enter the territory of peccaries,
deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see
the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys
travelling through the forest in search of food. Time
permitting, we will be able to return to enjoy a relaxing
swim in the cascade of the cat. After dinner we can make
another trip through the jungle, search for caimans or
relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal sounds.

DAY 4 :
Lake Sandoval After breakfast we will make a trip in boat
to the WASAI Maldonado Lodge, in Puerto Maldonado where
we will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty lunch.
After lunch we will leave and travel for twenty minutes
on the Madre de Dios River, to the access trail to Lake
Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest lake. 5 km hike
to the banks of the lake. There we will board a canoe
to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape
and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons,
hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds) , monkeys,
etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant
otters which live at the lake. We will have the
opportunity to fish piranhas and swim in the lake. Prepare
yourself for a spectacular sunset. It is time to begin
our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to
Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and
comfortable bungalows of WASAI Maldonado Lodge. After
dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on
foot or on bicycle. We can enjoy the pool and its cascade
surounded by verdant vegetation. Rest of the night free
to enjoy the night life of this welcoming city. (B, L,

DAY 05: Puerto
Maldonado Cusco-City Tour After an early breakfast we
will return to Puerto Maldonado for our flight to Cusco
( airfare included ), upon arrival reception and transfer
to HotEl , followed by a few cups of mate de coca, whilst
you iron out any questions you may have with us. At 13:45
you leave on the Cusco City Tour. This tour includes the
major sites of historical interest in Cusco, such as the
famous Inca fort at Sacsayhuaman, and the temple of the
Sun. Also included in this is a tourist card, giving you
access to all the sites in the Cusco area as a whole (i.e.,
including outside of the City itself) This tour finishes
at 18:00.(B)
DAY 06 Sacred Valley Tour
The Sacred valley of the Incas tour includes: Bus service
to the market of Pisaq, visits to Calca, Urubamba, the
ruins
of Ollantaytambo, and the market at Chinchero.There is
an English speaking guide, and lunch in a typical restaurant
in Urubamba. Of course, throughout this trip you will
have magnificent views of the high Peruvian Andes. At
18:39 you arrive back at the Orquidea Real.(B, L)
DAY 07 Machu Picchu
At 05:45 you leave, with a pack lunch and a guide to the
train which leaves at 06:00. Travel is in "Autowagon"
Class, the best there is, and you will be accompanied.
At 09:10 you arrive at the Aguas Calientes Station, from
where you take a 15 minute bus ride to the ruins of Machu
Picchu themselves. Once there, you will have a guided
tour, with an English speaking guide. The departure is
again by bus and Autowagon train, the train leaving at
15:00, arriving at Cusco at 18:25. (B, Box lunch)
DAY 08
Puno Transfer to the train or bus station. Ten hour train
or bus ride to Puno , across the scenic high Andes landscapes
only dotted by small villages and herds of the llamas
and vicuñas. Upon arrival transfer to hostal Pukara
or Don Miguel (B)
DAY 09
Uros and Taquile Islands You will be picked up from your
hotel 7,30 AM, after 2 hours motorboat you will arrive
at the Uros island, in the Titicaca lake . Fishermen and
hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Uros. The
residents of the Uros use the cattail, a type of rush,
which grows in the lake, to create the conditions that
ensure the
islands stay afloat. The dense roots that the plants develop
support the island.The roofs are waterproof and the houses
are extremely humid because of the surrounding water.
At present they speak Quechua and Aymara. Then we will
visit the Taquile island , including lunch in the co-operative
restaurant, there is also a co-operative shop on the plaza
that sells exceptional woollen goods which are not cheap
but of very fine quality. Taquile Island is famous for
its craft production, particularly for its beautiful textiles.
The island is narrow only about 1 KM wide , but 6 to 7
KM long, on Taquile there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca
ruins and Inca terracing. We will return in Puno in the
afternoon, overnight.(B, L)
DAY 10 Puno
– Lima In the afternoon transfer to the airport
to take the flight to Lima, ( airfare included ) upon
arrival reception and transfer to the Hotel Santa Cruz,
Miraflores Lima, overnight (B)
DAY 11 Transfer
- Out Transfer to the airport and end of the services
